Liberal Democrat Housing spokesperson Ross Finnie has urged Ministers to lift the freeze on affordable housing investment in Glasgow and Edinburgh to address the lack of affordable housing in Scotland.
Mr Finnie's comments come after the Health Secretary's announcement today that £17million will be invested to speed up the delivery of affordable housing in Scotland.
Commenting, Mr Finnie said:
"SNP Ministers have repeatedly re-announced accelerated investment in housing, but there is still high levels of need in both Edinburgh and Glasgow.
"It is unacceptable that investment in affordable housing for Scotland's two largest cities has been frozen.
"In the current economic crisis, there must be a fair allocation of funds to help those most in need right across Scotland."
