Commenting on the latest Fraser of Allander report, which predicts that Scotland is heading into a recession as or more severe than that of the 1980s, a 'worst case' net job loss of over 190,000 by 2011 and that GVA will fall by 2.57 per cent this year, Tavish Scott leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats said:

"As dole queues lengthen in Scotland and our economy stalls, Labour and SNP Ministers are bickering about who to blame.
"People here won't tolerate political grandstanding in London when there should be a united front of governments north and south of the border in the teeth of a recession.
"It's time to get real about what's happening."
