Commenting after a statement on the SNP Government's decision to defy the will of Parliament and scrap the Community Court project in Glasgow's east end, Liberal Democrat Justice spokesperson Robert Brown MSP said:
"The Justice Secretary's weasel words about Community Courts made for a sorry spectacle in Parliament today.
"As £50 million from the slopping out cases has just been released, it is an unacceptable excuse for Ministers to say they cannot find the necessary £1 million for Glasgow's Community Court.
"The Minister should be embarrassed to tell Parliament that the SNP holds its view in contempt. If the Government is not prepared to reconsider its position, then the Justice Secretary should be reconsidering his.
"This Government's justice strategy is a complete shambles."
