Commenting on the announcement from the Lloyds banking group that it is to cut 625 jobs in the UK, split evenly between England, Wales and Scotland, Liberal Democrat Finance spokesperson Jeremy Purvis MSP said:
"The Lloyds banking group must provide the public with clarity on their business plans for the next two years.
"It is becoming apparent that their corporate strategy is to make a series of relatively low key but significant announcements.
"This should not be used to mask the real picture if they are intending to have large scale job losses in Scotland in the coming months."
