Carmichael comments on fuel price meeting with Secretary of State for Scotland

Commenting after meeting with the Secretary of State for Scotland, Jim Murphy MP, to discuss high fuel prices in the Isles, Orkney and Shetland MP Alistair Carmichael said; "The meeting between the Secretary of State, myself and representatives from the local community and businesses was a fairly positive one. It is the start of dialogue which will now continue and which might result in some action to help address the problem of high fuel prices."

Earlier this week, Mr Carmichael made representations to the Secretary of State for Scotland asking him to make time available during his planned Ministerial visit to Orkney and Shetland to meet to discuss the crippling fuel prices which continue to affect islands families and businesses.
