Commenting after today's announcement of the General Election, local Liberal Democrat candidate Jean Davis commented; 'I relish the opportunity to persuade the voters in the Western Isles of our 4 steps to a fairer Britain. Fair taxes that put money back in your pocket, a fair future creating jobs by making Britain greener, a fair chance for every child and a fair deal by cleaning up politics.'
'This is a time for new ideas and for change. We have been let down by Labour for the last 13 years. We've had 75 years of Labour and SNP taking it in turns here.'
'The choice in this election is between more of the same or real change with the Liberal Democrats. We are the only party to fully embrace change and fairness and we are the only party that understands and cares about rural communities.'
