Campaigning in the Western Isles

Speaking after an afternoon campaigning in Stornoway local Liberal Democrat candidate Jean Davis commented; 'It's clear that it is going to be a close battle here.

'Voters are confused, unsure and still very angry about politicians, which they have every right to be, and judging from press interest over the last few days people away from the islands are waking up to the closeness of the contest here.'

'Its time to clean up politics for good and only the Liberal Democrats will do it by introducing a fair voting system that ends the culture of safe seats for life, with new powers for voters to sack corrupt MPs and a stronger Scottish Parliament better equipped to build a strong economy and a fair society.'

'It's time to get this right for all our sakes and we can't trust Labour or the Tories to deliver. Meanwhile the SNP stick to their dogma of independence whatever the cost'

'I feel passionately about this issue and I believe the voters are recognizing the advantages of a strong Liberal Democrat voice at Westminster to achieve the changes they also feel passionately about.'

'I look forward to continuing the discussion with them during the campaign and to delivering the change we need in Westminster'
